The Costa Tropical

The Costa Tropical in southern Spain is a beautiful strip of coastline between the Costa del Sol and Costa Almería.

Its location on the Mediterranean coupled with its proximity to Africa and to the Sierra Nevada mountain range protect the Costa Tropical from the colder north winds, thus generating a sub-tropical climate quite like no other.

Frequently described by the WHO (World Health Organisation) as one of the healthiest places in the world the live, owing in part to its average 320 days of sunshine each year, The Costa Tropical leaves the competition standing.

Why The Costa Tropical?

Where else can a person be lucky enough to soak up the sun’s rays on one of the many beaches along the picturesque Mediterranean coastline in the morning, enjoy a lazy lunch and be skiing or snowboarding at Europe’s southernmost ski resort, The Sierra Nevada Ski Station, in the afternoon?

Additionally, The Costa Tropical offers:

  • Aquatropic – A lovely waterpark, located in Almuñecar on the coast, offering fun for all the family.
  • Castles & Ruins – The Costa Tropical coastline is home to many castles, fortresses and watchtowers, all of which speak to the area’s rich history in defending itself from the numerous attacks and raids spanning hundreds of years.
  • Water sports – The crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean are perfect for water sports enthusiasts and beginners alike. On any given day kayakers, windsurfers, scuba divers and jet skiers can be spotted enjoying the delightful Southern coastline.
  • The Beaches – From long, sandy, beaches to hidden away rocky coves, there are choices aplenty to suit all visitors. Rarely overcrowded, even in high season, the beaches of The Costa Tropical have something to offer everyone.
  • Seafood Restaurants – Fish lovers are spoilt for choice by the number of award winning seafood restaurants dotted along beaches of The Costa Tropical, with many offering traditional cooking methods, on an open grill, much to the delight of patrons and visitors.
  • The Climate – This area has its own sub tropical micro climate consisting of very warm summers and mild winters, which only serves to remind one that dining outside and having bare feet for at least 8 months of the year should never be undervalued.
